Your Opportunity : This position reports to the Chief Engineer of the Facilities Maintenance and Engineering (FM&E) leadership team and performs duties found within the Power Engineering certification. This includes planned and demand maintenance on all FM&E supported infrastructure and equipment. Please note : Classifications Under Review.
Description
The Power Engineer 3rd Class is responsible for performing repairs and inspections on a variety of building equipment and mechanical systems in accordance with Alberta Health Services and Alberta Boiler Safety Association (ABSA) standards and practices. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 2111 Collective Agreement.
Required Qualifications : A 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate required.
Additional Required Qualifications : Mechanical aptitude. Good customer service skills. Must be detail-oriented and organized. Computer skills required. e.g. Microsoft Office (Includes Outlook, Word, Excel). Able to communicate clearly in English, verbally and in writing. Use required tools and equipment related to maintenance repair and testing. Maintain composure and make decisions in emergency situations. Demonstrate technical problems solving abilities and be mechanically inclined.
Preferred Qualifications : Two years of 3rd Class Power Engineering experience preferred. Two years in a hospital maintenance setting preferred.
