About the Director of Finance
As the Director of Finance, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of two regulated entities within Virgo Group : VirgoCX Inc., a Canadian crypto trading platform, and Virgo Digital Asset Management Inc. (VDAM), which launched a private fund as mutual fund trust in Canada.
You will be providing financial leadership and support to ensure the financial health and compliance of each entity. You will also be responsible for creating and implementing financial strategies and policies that align with the overall goals and objectives of Virgo Group. You have a clear career path to grow to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) position of the entities.
Responsibilities : VirgoCX Inc. :
- Work with finance employees to provide financial reports and various financial information accurately and effectively
- Supervise financial operations and coordinate with operations and other departments to respond to finance-related requests efficiently
- Connect with the panel auditor to ensure annual financial statement audits and Form 1 audits move smoothly
- Analyze the financial data and prepare financial projections, and improve financial operations based on business and financial actuals and forecasts
- Communicate with Ontario Security Commission and Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) on behalf of the company and fulfill regulatory requirements
- Monitor cash flow and financial positions of the company to ensure capital sufficiency from a financial and regulatory perspective
- Maintain and update the procedures and policies of the company as per regulatory requirements and communicate with board members and group level managers effectively
- Work with software service providers to implement accounting software upgrade and improvement
VDAM :
Supervise the accountant(s) of the company to manage the financial reporting in a timely mannerCoordinate with external auditors and the management team to ensure annual audits move smoothlyCommunicate with Ontario Security Commission on behalf of the company and fulfill financial-related regulatory requirementsMonitor cash flow and financial positions of the company to ensure capital sufficiency and complianceWork with banking partners, stockbrokers and external service providers to guarantee efficient operationsMaintain and update the procedures and policies and communicate with board members and group level managers effectivelyVDAM Private Fund :
Manage fund finance operations and inter-company mattersWork with the external fund reporting service provider to provide financial statements and relevant financial information to unit holdersCoordinate with external auditors to complete annual audits and fulfill multiple taxation requirementsReconcile the NAV of the Fund weekly provided by fund admin and communicate with stakeholdersMonitor and manage cash movements between the Fund and the management company and clientsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities :
At least 5 years of experience in financial services and asset managementA Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related fieldProfessional accounting qualification such as CPA is requiredPassing the CSI Chief Financial Officer and Partners, Directors and Senior Officers Courses is a strong assetExperience with OSC regulated and CIRO regulated entities is a strong assetStrong ability to communicate to all level of stakeholders, especially regulatorsProven ability to develop and implement financial strategies that align with overall business objectives, and to adapt to changing market conditionsHigh ethical standards, strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, ability to manage multiple priorities, and a strong commitment to the success of the businessAbility to collaborate with management to organize, plan and achieve company financial goals.Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting softwareJ-18808-Ljbffr
