Overview

Dawson Road Maintenance is looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Operators to join our team. This is a temporary, full-time position of Heavy Equipment Operator, reporting to the Superintendent of Roads. Base location is Smithers, BC, and travel throughout the province may be required.

What Success Looks Like

• Must prioritize safety of self and others in all aspects of the job
• Ability to efficiently operate heavy equipment
• Ability to read and understand survey stakes is considered an asset
• Operate heavy equipment in a mining environment in a safe and appropriate manner
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance
• Complete daily hazard assessments, maintenance checklists, etc.
• Attend daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections, and adhere to safety policies
