Job description

Successful applicants are required to provide a criminal record check (including Vulnerable Sector Search) if not already on file, to human resources before starting employment and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.

Purpose of the position :

  • Effective supervision of the Meadows ARC and its satellite services WVSA and CSS / ILS
  • Ensures consistent delivery of quality care / service to the participants
  • Performs job requirements under the specific direction of the Director / Assistant Director of Disability Support Programs.
  • Oversees the activities and effective functioning of the Rehabilitative Care Workers, Recreation Programmers, Housekeeping, Maintenance and Dietary staff in the absence of the department’s manager.
  • Maintains supportive, caring, professional relationships with participants in a manner appropriate to their individual needs and abilities, supporting inclusion and independence.
  • Participates in the problem solving, decision-making and quality assurance processes relating to participant care.
  • Actively participates in Clinic Team discussions and attends / participates in meetings as appropriate.
  • Maintains effective communication and positive working relationships with other LPN’S, and Management Team Members.
  • Participates in communication with both Director, Assistant Director, and CEO to discuss issues relating to quality of care, policies and procedures.

Qualifications :

  • Currently licensed as a LPN in Nova Scotia
  • Successful completion of Pharmacology Course
  • Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License; available means of transportation.
  • Current certificate in Standard First Aid and CPR
  • Non-violent Crisis Intervention training or Mandt
  • Related experience preferred.
  • Salary - As per SEIU Collective Agreement
