Job Summary

As a  Director Data Development for our Enterprise Data Analytics team, you’ll be joining a purpose-driven team aligned with our mission :  Together We Create Healthier Lives. We’re looking for visionary, self-driven leader to help expand its reach across all business lines. This is your opportunity to shape how we integrate, govern, and elevate data quality to fundamentally transform how Charles River operates through data science and advanced analytics.

In this role, primary responsibilities include :

• Develop and executed a data engineering strategy aligned with enterprise goals and digital transformation;
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define a unified data architecture and scalable roadmap;
• Promote innovation through emerging technologies and platform enhancements;
• Establish governance frameworks and best practices for data consistency and compliance;
• Architecte enterprise-scale data platforms using Microsoft Azure tools (Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, Event Hubs);
• Lead advanced Databricks implementations for large-scale processing, ML workflows, and real-time analytics;
• Enable actionable insights via semantic models and Power BI enterprise reporting;
• Built robust data pipelines for high-volume ingestion, transformation, and distribution.
• Direct a high-performing team, ensured 99.9%+ uptime, and drove automation and DevOps for operational efficiency.

About Safety Assessment

Charles River is committed to helping our partners expedite their preclinical drug development with exceptional safety assessment services, state-of-the-art facilities and expert regulatory guidance. From individual specialty toxicology and IND enabling studies to tailored packages and total laboratory support, our deeply experienced team can design and execute programs that anticipate challenges and avoid roadblocks for a smooth, efficient journey to market.  Each year approximately 300 investigational new drug (IND) programs are conducted in our Safety Assessment facilities.
