Accountabilities : How You Will Make an Impact
To deliver human factors expertise to power generation utilities and other customers. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in at least some of the following areas :
Development, review, and implementation of Human Factors Engineering Program Plans (HFEPPs) per CNSC REGDOC 2.5.1 and CSA N290.12-14Development, review, and implementation of verification and validation plans per CNSC REGDOC 2.5.1Experience in the application of nuclear industry Human Factors Guidelines (e.g. NUREG-0711, NUREG-0700)Task analysisFunction analysisTraining needs analysis / the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT)Usability testingHuman-system interface designRoot cause analysisWorkload analysisProbabilistic Risk Assessment & Human Reliability AnalysisSafety managementWhat You Need to Succeed
Typically at least nine years of relevant experiencein the application of human factors methods to nuclear industry or another high-hazard industry at the working level. This experiencebegins after graduation and after up to 2 years of developmental experience. Work experience must include providing business services within nuclear industry / high hazard industry. Experience shall include complex problem solving in a data processing environment.
Completion of a 4-year University degree in Engineering or Science (with industrial engineering, systems engineering, or human factors in design)Human Factors certification from a recognized body (e.g. BCPE, ACE), or able to attain the designationDemonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communications is required for preparation of reports, recommendations, and presentations.Registered as a Professional Engineer, or able to attain the designationAn understanding of CANDU nuclear power plant design, operation, and regulatory requirementsEnsures that deliverables (e.g., analysis, drawings, specifications) comply with applicable regulations, standards, procedures, and human factors principlesKnowledge and / or experience in project management methodologies and toolsStrong interpersonal communication skills applicable internally with project team members as well as externally with project partnersExperience working in a multi-disciplinary team with Engineers, Analysts, and Project Managers, delivering projects that vary in size, complexity and scopeAbility to communicate effectively with clients and internal team members in the design processEnsures accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with quality programSelf-motivated and a desire to achieve resultsWell-developed initiative and problem-solving skillsWillingness to learnExcellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detailThe ability to develop and maintain relationships with customersProven skills with a variety of software programs including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointMarketing skills, including the capability to write and present technical papers at conferencesAbility to obtain OPG and Bruce Power Security Clearance is requiredWillingness to travel and work at client sitesKinectrics welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
