Philosophy Department New CUPE1 Appointments for Winter 2025
The Philosophy Department expects the following appointment packages of courses and sections to be available for discharge for Winter 2025. Please note that applications must correspond to the entire appointment packages as listed below (i.e., it is not possible to apply for individual courses that are listed as part of an appointment package). All course descriptions can be found at
Combinations : The teaching needs envisaged below are based on current FTE allocations and current expectations of enrolment numbers and patterns for the Winter 2025 semester. Should these estimates prove inaccurate, the particular combinations of courses may change.
Course Delivery Format : Unless stated otherwise, all courses in this posting are scheduled to be delivered in-person.
Vaccination Policy : Effective May 1, 2022, the University’s Vaccination Policy has been suspended. However, due to the fluid and dynamic nature of the COVID-19 virus, should public health indicators change, the University reserves the right to reinstate the Vaccination Policy, as deemed necessary. Should this policy be reintroduced, all successful candidates will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and provide such proof.

Types of Positions and Terminology :
a full workload sessional appointment, normally for thirty (30) to thirty-two (32) total semester hours over two (2) successive semesters; (b) a full workload half sessional appointment, normally for fifteen (15) to sixteen (16) semester hours in any one (1) semester; (c) a reduced workload sessional appointment, for at least nine (9) but less than fifteen (15) semester hours in each of two (2) successive semesters; (d) a reduced workload half sessional appointment, for at least nine (9) but less than fifteen (15) semester hours in any one (1) semester; 37 (e) a part time hourly appointment / two (2) semesters, for less than nine (9) semester hours in each of two (2) successive semesters; (f) a part time hourly appointment / one (1) semester, for less than nine (9) semester hours in any one (1) semester; (g) a multi-term appointment consisting of any appointment type listed in 1. (a) to (f) above for more than one (1) academic year.

Education
PhD. or equivalent in field related to target course
PhD (or equivalent)
MBA or equivalent
Terminal degree (PhD) in other discipline
Master degree.
Teaching Experience
Teaching target or similar course at TMU graduate program.
Teaching target or similar course at other university graduate program.
Teaching target or similar course at TMU undergraduate program or another university undergraduate program.
Teaching target course at College.
Practice field experience
Current (past 3 years) practice in related field 6-10 (depends on quality of experience, including relevance to course, level of responsibility, relevant professional accreditation, etc.)
Past (more than 3) years ago) practice in related field.
Currency
Academic publications (refereed) in past 5 years.
Academic publications more than 5 years ago or current (less than 5 years) professional profile (including professional or academic presentations).
Other demonstrated professional currency (practitioner writing, courses taken).
