Position Title: Roofer (NOC 73110)

Available Positions: Three (3)

Start Dated: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment:

• Permanent Position – Full time
• Weekends, Mornings, daytime and some overtime
• Wages – Starting at $32.00 – $34.00/hour for 30 – 40 hours per week

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Repair, maintain, and remove roofs and the installation of new ones
• Measure roof to calculate the quantities of required materials
• Install vapor barriers and layers of insulation
• Inspected composition shingles, slate shingles and metal roofs for leaks
• Apply cold process roof coatings
• Erect rigging as required
• Determine materials requirements for roof repairs
• Inspect problem roofs to find out the best way to repair them
• Find and replace damaged joists and plywood
• Install shingles, asphalt, metal, or other materials to make the roof watertight
• Working at heights on flat and slopped roofs
• Required the use of manual and or power tools

Skill / Experience Requirements:

Secondary (High) School is an asset

One (1) to Two (2) year of experience as a roofer

Work Site Environment – Fast pace and high pressure at heights; working outside; in a commercial and/or residential setting
