The primary responsibility of the Sales Bid Manager is to oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the bid and pricing process for TELUS Health Retirement & Benefits solutions, often managing multiple opportunity workstreams in parallel.
Governance of bid process (from qualification to hand off to implementation), enforcing timeline, following up with subject matter experts, and organizing / leading relevant meetings
Assemble and lead project management of team for key bids, working closely with sales, deciding executives, and writing team to ensure delivery of high-quality proposals
Utilize knowledge of multiple disciplines (defined benefit, health and welfare, system solutions / SaaS business, implementation process, etc.)
Network and communicate with colleagues across business
Define, execute, and maintain bid management best practices
Identify and pioneer process improvement initiatives
Responsibilities include :
Project manage the end-to-end bid process, setting a timeline with realistic deadlines to ensure on-time submission of a compliant and compelling bid
Work with Sales Lead to ensure development of clear and compelling win strategy, ensuring win themes are woven throughout proposal and meeting materials
Organize and host relevant meetings and provide minutes to all stakeholders involved
Manage virtual bid teams and coordinate work between key solution requirements stakeholders, including input from key stakeholders (e.g., sales, marketing, business, product teams, finance, delivery, implementation, legal, IT / security, etc.)
Contribute to written proposal in regard to content and presentation, including research and communication with subject matter experts as needed
Follow up with relevant stakeholders regarding key information (proposed project team names, references, requirements, other items as required)
Respond to internal stakeholders’ questions / queries in regard to the bid process and specific opportunity
Ensure pricing is complete so that approval can be provided by appropriate Leaders
Resolve issues / risks encountered throughout bid process
Ensure proposal bid gets delivered as per established timeline
Ensure proposal gaps are identified and addressed in a timely manner
Coordinate team and materials for all presentations required as part of the bid process
Drive continuous improvement, including gathering and sharing feedback from post-bid reviews
Assist in identification of market trends
Qualifications / Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Writing / Creative Writing, English, or industry related field preferred
10+ years related work experience, ideally within the Retirement / Health & Welfare industry
Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects to successful completion
