We are currently seeking a dedicated, experienced Assurance Manager to join our client's dynamic team, focusing on owner-managed private companies.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage assurance engagements, specifically for owner-managed private companies, ensuring compliance with ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises).
- Review and oversee the preparation of financial statements, working papers, and tax returns for accuracy and compliance with Canadian accounting standards.
- Provide technical expertise in ASPE and assurance engagements, guiding the team through complex issues.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor for their financial and business needs.
- Supervise and mentor staff, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
- Identify and address accounting and tax issues, collaborating with the team to resolve any challenges that arise during engagements.
- Conduct research on technical accounting and tax matters, delivering sound conclusions and recommendations to clients.
- Manage multiple engagements simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines are met and work is completed with the highest level of quality.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications :
- 5+ years of experience in a public accounting environment with a focus on owner-managed private companies.
- Completed Canadian CPA designation.
- At least 1 year of experience reviewing files prepared by junior staff.
- Strong experience with Canadian corporate taxes and the ability to advise on tax planning strategies for private companies.
- Proficient in Caseware, Caseview, MS Office (Excel and Word), and Taxprep.
- Deep understanding of Canadian accounting and assurance engagement standards, specifically ASPE.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships, with a focus on delivering exceptional service.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to clients and team members.
- Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects effectively.
