Objective
Reporting to the Data & Analytics Director within IT department, the Data Engineer will play a key role in the growth of the Data and Analytics practice at Joseph Ribkoff. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize data pipelines and models that support business intelligence and analytics solutions. You will work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, and data architects to ensure efficient data delivery, integrity, and usability.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL / ELT data pipelines using Snowflake
- Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL databases, APIs, cloud storage, etc.) into centralized data platforms
- Optimize data workflows for performance and cost in cloud-based environments.
- Build and maintain data models and data marts to support Power BI reporting and analytics.
- Ensure data quality, security and governance through monitoring and validation
- Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies
- Contribute to the technical documentation of data flows
- Drive best practices in data modelling, performance optimization and metadata management
- Always be on the lookout for possible improvements to the platform.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar rolesBachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field (Information Technology, Data Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)Knowledge of Agile / Scrum / Kanban methodologyStrong interest in cloud computing technologies and modern platforms.Ability to transform business requirements into technical specifications and intuitive visualizations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience in Data migration to a cloud platformCommunicates effectively with internal and external team membersHas a good understanding of the customer's business issues and data challengesExcellent team spirit and excellent ability to work in a multidisciplinary teamGood communication skills in French and English, written and spokenGood knowledge of the manufacturing, distribution and / or retail industry is an asset.Technical Skills
