What is the Opportunity?
Scarborough Transit Connect (STC) was selected by Metrolinx to deliver the Scarborough Subway Extension – Stations, Rails and Systems (SSE-SRS) package. The Scarborough Subway Extension will bring the TTC’s Line 2 subway service nearly eight kilometers farther into Scarborough. It will extend from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road, providing quick and seamless transit for those heading into and out of the downtown core and those travelling within Scarborough. The extension will replace Line 3 (the Scarborough RT), helping to reduce travel times and improve access to jobs, schools and other key destinations throughout the city.
As part of the Scarborough Transit Connect project based in Scarborough, Aecon is looking for a qualified Scheduler to join our team.
What You'll Do Here:
- Detail and update the project schedule using scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6). This is in accordance with contract requirements and under the supervision of the scheduling manager and scheduling lead.
- Follow up on all construction tasks that are clearly defined with appropriate time frames, resources, and dependencies.
- Ensure data required for evaluating production rates and updating the schedule are appropriately captured and documented.
- Develop three weeks look ahead with the construction, procurement, design, PLAAs & properties team. Follow up on the content. The three weeks look ahead will be communicated to the Scheduling Manager and/or Lead.
- Attend weekly, monthly and ad-hoc meetings to discuss progress with the construction team.
- Ensure photographic reports are documented and archived on a weekly basis.
- Ensure that the schedule change control log is in place and properly updated to reflect changes/adjustments to baseline schedule.
- Monitor the progress of the construction project and compare it with the baseline schedule.
- Communicate variations, delays, potential risks, and issues to central scheduling team promptly.
- Prepare required progress reports and dashboards to provide project status updates to all internal and external clients.
- Analyze schedule variance, float and trending and monitor schedule KPI’s.
- Support progress measurement process and analyze progress and performance data.
- Perform audits on various schedules including those produced by subcontractors, prepare all required output documents.
- Collaborate with all cross functional teams to maintain, add, or modify the schedule data and plans.
- Ability to extract information from design drawings, technical specifications and contract documents.
- Any other tasks as deemed required by the scheduling manager or scheduling lead.
What You Bring to The Team:
- 5 to 7 years of experience in project planning/scheduling in the construction industry.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering would be considered an asset.
- Proficiency in computer scheduling programs (i.e. Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project).
- Synchro and TILOS experience preferred.
- Contractor and Infrastructure project experience developing mid-size projects schedules is preferred.
- Cost, Earned Value and EOT Claims’ exposure is preferred.
- Ability to deliver under stringent timeline.

The expected pay range for this opportunity is $65,000 - $105,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
