Payroll Clerk

We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team on a contract basis. Based in Vaughan, Ontario, this role involves managing union remittances and supporting payroll administration tasks in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in payroll systems and advanced Excel skills to ensure accuracy and compliance in all processes.

Responsibilities :

• Extract union hours and payroll data from ADP Workforce Now and organize it within Excel spreadsheets.
• Compile union and local data into pre-designed Excel workbooks using existing formulas and reconciliation tools.
• Prepare and submit monthly union remittance packages to Accounts Payable.
• Cross-check remittance data with payroll reports to confirm accuracy.
• Track union contributions and generate monthly reports to ensure compliance.
• Address inquiries and resolve discrepancies with unions regarding remittance details.
• Validate payroll data and assist with audits to maintain accuracy.
• Support payroll reporting and reconciliation processes to meet organizational deadlines.
• Maintain clear and organized documentation for payroll and union remittance activities.
• Collaborate with payroll and compliance teams to ensure timely completion of all tasks.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll functions or related roles.
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now and other payroll systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data reconciliation.
• Strong understanding of union remittance processes and payroll administration.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills to address inquiries and discrepancies.
• Familiarity with accounting software systems and HR administration.
