Director - Engineering
Penta Search Group has been retained by a global medical device manufacturer to identify a Director of Engineering to be based in their R&D and Manufacturing facility in Burnaby, BC.
Overseeing a team of Engineers, you will play an integral part in leading research and development efforts for the business.
You will :
- Develop and implement R&D strategies
- Lead support for multiple R&D projects
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, such as FDA regulations and ISO requirements
- Foster a culture of innovation within the R&D team
- Collaborate with other departments, including regulatory affairs, quality assurance, manufacturing, and marketing
- Identify and mitigate technical, regulatory, and business risks associated with R&D projects
Requirements :
- Degree in engineering, biomedical engineering, or related field; advanced degree (e.g., MS, PhD) preferred.
- 8+ years in R&D leadership roles within the medical device industry either in an Engineering role or Quality (with an engineering background)
- Knowledge of medical device regulations and quality standards
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results on schedule and within budget.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
