The Manager, Compliance, coordinates the team's anti-money laundering and anti-terrorist financing (AML / ATF) activities.

He / she reports to the Senior Manager, Compliance, Operational Risk and AML / ATF Risk Management for the Governance, Risk and Compliance, Personal Banking business unit.

The incumbent manages the team's advisors and analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Know and understand the AML / ATF regulations and be able to apply them in a banking context.
  • Coordinate the work of the team's advisors and analysts. Foster a motivating work environment in which results are delivered on time.
  • Review reports and analyses prepared by his / her team to ensure rigorous, compliant work.
  • Contribute to the development of the team's advisors and analysts; ensure that each person receives regular coaching.
  • Advise and offer any needed support to the Personal Banking business line and act as an expert on AML / ATF and in AML / ATF risk management.

Ensure that this business line's procedures comply with current standards.

  • Use his / her expertise on the AML / ATF to contribute to initiatives related to AML / ATF risk management that affect the Personal Banking business line.
  • Prepare various reports and analyses for the CAML / ATF support office or Personal Banking senior management.
  • Keep the team's procedures up to date to ensure compliance with the Bank's AML / ATF policy and current regulations. Propose solutions to optimize the team's work.
  • Prepare reporting for Personal Banking senior management and the CAML / ATF support office.
  • Collaborate on a regular basis with the CAML / ATF support office, the Financial Crime and AML / ATF team and the Internal Audit department.
  • Promote compliance with the Bank's AML / ATF standards and highlight the importance of preventing, detecting and deterring AML / ATF.
  • Support the Senior Manager and perform any tasks of a similar or general nature requested by his / her superior or required as part of his / her duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • At least eight years of relevant experience
  • At least three years of experience in people management
  • Bilingualism* (spoken and written French and English)
  • Experience in banking
  • Strong coaching skills
  • Ability to make decisions and find solutions
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Assets

  • CAMS certification (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)
  • Professional working proficiency in French and English languages required as position involves frequent written and oral communication on complex matters with internal and external parties in both languages.
