Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities.
The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region and its rural setting featuring 750+ acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.
The Dual Enrollment Administrator position assists with managing and enhancing the dual enrollment program, which bridges high school and college education.
This role is pivotal in ensuring high school students have a smooth and supported transition into college-level courses, enhancing their academic success and personal growth.
This position acts as a vital liaison, streamlining communication among students, parents, educators, and the college while managing administrative aspects such as registration and compliance.
Through this role, the college strengthens its commitment to accessible, quality education and fosters a seamless integration of high school students into the college environment, preparing them for future academic and career success.
Duties include, but are not limited to :
Student Registration and Support : Assist with the registration process for dual enrollment students, ensuring a smooth enrollment and transition into college-level courses.
Provide ongoing support to students, helping them navigate academic and administrative processes.
Liaison Work : Act as a point of contact for high school students, parents, educators, and college staff involved in the dual enrollment program.
Facilitate clear and consistent communication among all stakeholders.
- Academic Advising and Counseling : Offer academic advice and counseling to dual enrollment students, assisting them in course selection and understanding college-level expectations and requirements.
- Program Promotion and Outreach : Actively promote the dual enrollment program through information sessions, workshops, and other outreach activities aimed at students, parents, and educators.
- Relationship Building : Establish and maintain positive relationships with local high schools and other educational institutions to support and expand the dual enrollment program.
- Monitoring and Reporting : Monitor the progress of dual enrollment students and provide regular reports on their performance, challenges, and successes to the Director of Dual Enrollment & High School Programs.
- Professional Development : Stay informed about current trends and developments in dual enrollment education, participating in professional development opportunities to enhance personal expertise and program effectiveness.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership : Work collaboratively with faculty and administrative staff to align the dual enrollment program with the broader educational goals of Richard Bland College.
- Problem Resolution : Identify and address any issues or concerns related to the dual enrollment program, including student performance, administrative processes, or stakeholder communication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Significant experience in education and / or higher learning.
- Experience working with dual enrollment populations.
- Experience in higher education software platforms such as Canvas, Banner, or other student information system
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Additional Considerations
Higher education degree in education, business, counseling, human resources, or related field that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of department management and strategic support in a higher education environment
