Site Overview : King Campus in Hamilton provides specialized patient-centered care. Security personnel support a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for patients, visitors, and staff across this dynamic healthcare facility.
Position : Full Time Security Guard
Site : St. Joseph Healthcare (King Campus)
Hours : Monday to Friday (2300 - 0700)
Payrate : $21.42 / hr
Averaging Agreement : Overtime is ESA

Responsibilities
- Patrol and protect the aforementioned campus and provide a safe environment for all occupants.
- Provide security services for all interior and exterior areas of the campuses.
- Work with Security Manager and delegates to plan and implement various security programs within the campuses.
- Escort staff on night and evening shifts to their parked cars.
- Where applicable, operate and staff the security portals.
- Assist staff units, patients, visitors, volunteers, contractors, police and other support agencies as required.
- Respond to all emergency codes, panic or personal alarms activated by staff.
- Provide key and access control as required by staff in accordance with SJHH policies.
- Conduct patrols and investigations as required, completes logs and reports.
- Operate the Graphic User Interface, monitor cameras and investigate vandalism, theft, accidents, and other criminal acts that occur on property.
- Provide parking lot monitoring and support.
- Follow-up on emergency maintenance issues and incident reporting during off-hours.
- Use, maintain and care for security property including keys, identification badges, and two way radios as required.
- Conduct various ground inspections as instructed.
- Participate in all applicable SJHH emergency codes.
- Where applicable, provide ongoing support and issuing of personal alarms as required by SJHH.
- Carries SJH pagers and radio.
- Any additional duties and assignments can be requested.
Requirements
Valid Ontario Security Guard License & First Aid CPR C certificateProficient in English (both oral and written)Degree in Police Foundations, Protection Security and Investigations, Criminology, or Border Services will be an assetPrevious one year experience in healthcare security, law enforcement, or a related field preferredAble to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95Immunization Record (measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, double Covid Vaccination, and TB skin tests 1 and 2)Valid First Aid and CPR Level C CertificationMust be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's UOF / MOAB training program prior to onboarding to meet requirementsLegally authorized to work in CanadaNote : The UOF / MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; Paladin will cover training costs with a 6-month commitment to the position / availability.
