The Opportunity : Support the safe and effective prescribing function for MedExpress’ Canadian expansion, with an initial focus on BC, Alberta and Ontario. You will be key to providing safe, compliant, and efficient care.

What You'll Do

• Provide support to fellow prescribers, including a team of Nurse Practitioners.
• Use the MedExpress platform to clinically review and assess asynchronous patient consultations and, if safe, prescribe medications (initially GLP-1s and ED treatments) in line with our protocols and guidance.
• Assess patient side effects and provide clinical support as needed.
• Communicate directly with patients to address medical queries in a timely and professional manner.
• Document concise and comprehensive patient notes in English.
• Ensure safe prescribing practices and patient safety by raising escalations and flagging incidents appropriately.
• Keep up to date with license requirements and any independent training to ensure clinical competency in respective areas of prescribing.
• Work closely with our Customer Support team to provide patient support via various means, including, but not limited to, online chat, phone call, or video consultation.
• Complete own work efficiently and in accordance with the designated rota.
• Participate in clinical governance meetings to discuss treatment decisions, ensuring compliance with set protocols and pathways.
• Discuss complex cases with peers and the Lead Prescriber (Physician).

Registration requirements - one of the following provincial registrations (more than one preferred) :

Insurance : Must include cover for Nurse Practitioner prescribing via asynchronous forms in each related province, including off-label prescribing.

Paid per hour. Salary Banding : $80—$120 CAD.
