Here, everyone is part of the story, a community that connects across the globe, and a place where creativity thrives, new perspectives are invited, and ideas matter. A team where everyone makes play happen.

About Us

Our Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team is an important part of our development process, consistently delivering actionable insights that support our game teams to optimize software performance and elevate gameplay.

Who do we work with?

You will work closely with the EA SPORTS FC QV Team.

About the Role

The Senior Quality Designer position will require you to develop new quality practices that aim to improve quality across all teams at EA. You will define and deliver the strategic and operational goals for the FC QV team, report to the QA Development Director, and partner directly with the Producer and/or other Designers to agree on strategies. You will apply these practices to the PC player experience, ensuring high-quality feel across common PC hardware, operating systems, monitor/VRR setups, anti‑cheat, and platform integrations (Steam, EA app, Epic).

Your Responsibilities

Quality Strategy and Test Planning

  • End-to-end ownership of quality strategies and proposing tactical solutions.
  • Understand and articulate trends within a relevant gaming community.
  • Incorporate player/user feedback from partner groups into quality assessments and strategies.
  • Use problem‑solving techniques, such as hypothesis setting and testing.
  • Use change control processes to measure the impact of evolving quality strategies.
  • Accountable for the identification, escalation and mitigation of risks in your focus area.
  • Build a PC coverage plan (top GPUs/CPUs, OS/driver combinations, storage, monitor/HDR/VRR, peripherals/input devices).
  • Define clear acceptance criteria for PC‑specific features (display modes, graphics settings, upscalers, controller/KBM, accessibility) and platform flows.
  • Translate PC community signals (forums/reviews/tickets) into reproducible test cases and milestone checklists.

Quality and Data Analysis

  • Interpret data from numerous sources to produce clear, relevant information, informing decisions to improve product quality and QA service delivery.
  • Translate project metrics into data‑driven decisions and strategies.
  • Provide concise evidence for PC issues (repro steps, short clips, logs/minidumps) and validate fixes across representative hardware bands.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work with other team members and partners to solve problems and improve processes.
  • You advocate for the player experience, influencing positive change in game experiences.
  • Ensure processes and strategies are aligned with organisational goals.
  • Be the QA representative in meetings, offering insights, leading quality discussions, sharing information, and identifying potential risks.

Mentorship and Team Support

  • Provide input to assist management teams in decision‑making.
  • Mentor and support team members in implementing quality strategies.
  • Lead improvements and knowledge sharing across teams.

Our Requirements

Experience and Knowledge

  • 7+ years of experience in software development, quality assurance, or game design.
  • Deep familiarity with PC gaming ecosystems: Windows OS, drivers, monitor/refresh/VRR/HDR setups, and anti‑cheat considerations.
  • Knowledge of PC platform integration (Steam, EA app, Epic) and PC‑first player expectations in AAA.
  • In‑depth understanding of quality assurance techniques, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Experience with CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment).
  • Experience in AAA game development/Live Services is desirable.
  • 5+ years of direct or indirect leadership experience.
  • Expertise in data analysis tools, demonstrating advanced proficiency and knowledge expansion.
  • Experience with defect and task tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, TestRail).
  • Experience planning and executing a test strategy and tasks using Scrum/agile process.

Skills and Abilities

  • Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Translate project metrics into data‑driven decisions and strategies.
  • Passion for creating high‑quality player experiences.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication.
  • Familiar with and proficient in user research methodology.
  • Ability to isolate PC variables (drivers, OS updates, graphics settings, overlays) and produce clear, evidence‑based bug reports.

Path to Becoming a Quality Designer
