We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Operations Lead to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Infrastructure, backup systems, its monitoring and patching operations to ensure the availability, security and reliability of our IT infrastructure that is delivered by a combination of vendor partners and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Produce monthly metrics for Infrastructure services
- Monitor and manage vendor KPIs
- Develop, implement, and maintain backup strategies and schedules.
- Monitor backup jobs and ensure successful completion.
- Organize and lead regular system recovery testing from backups.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures and issues.
- Plan, schedule, and execute patch management activities.
- Ensure all systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches and updates.
- Monitor patch deployment and address any issues that arise.
- Maintain documentation of patch management processes and procedures.
- Monitor infrastructure, middleware and system performance and health.
Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure system stability and performance.
Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve system issues and improve overall infrastructure.Ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.Implement security best practices and assist in security audits.Maintain accurate records of backup and patching activities.Review and ensure change plans meet change guidelinesCoordinate infrastructure changesQualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Proven experience in system administration, backup management, and patching operations.Strong knowledge of backup and recovery tools and technologies.Familiarity with patch management tools and processes.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and documentation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Preferred Skills
Proficiency in managing and maintaining servers, both on-premises and in the cloud.Experience with operating systems like Linux, Windows, and Unix.Knowledge of backup solutions and technologies (e.g., Azure Backup, AWS backup, Veeam, etc).Ability to develop and implement backup strategies and perform regular testing.Familiarity with patch management tools (e.g., WSUS, SCCM, Ansible).Experience in planning, scheduling, and executing patch deployments.Skills in using monitoring tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, AWS Cloudwatch, ScienceLogic, OEM, etc.).Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot system issues.Understanding of security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Experience in implementing security measures and conducting audits.Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) to automate tasks.Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Puppet, Chef).Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified : Azure Administrator, AWS Certified SysOps Administrato r.What Laurentian Bank has to offer you
