Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Building Technician to join their facilities management team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in building maintenance and repair, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to ensuring a safe, functional, and pleasant environment for all building occupants. The Building Technician will perform a variety of tasks to maintain and improve the building infrastructure, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC systems, and general maintenance.

Key Responsibilities :

Maintenance and Repairs :

Perform routine maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

  • Conduct inspections of building systems and identify potential issues or hazards.
  • Repair or replace faulty equipment, fixtures, and components as needed.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and service calls in a timely manner.

System Management :

Monitor and manage building systems using control panels and automated systems.

  • Assist with the installation and calibration of new equipment and systems.
  • Maintain records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities.

    • Safety and Compliance :

    Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes.

  • Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Assist with emergency response and disaster recovery procedures.

    • Customer Service :

    Provide excellent service to building occupants by addressing their maintenance concerns and ensuring minimal disruption.

  • Communicate effectively with tenants, staff, and management regarding maintenance issues and solutions.

    • Administrative Duties :

    Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment.

  • Prepare reports and documentation related to maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Assist with budget planning for maintenance and repairs.

    • Qualifications :

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a building technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment and systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and building codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
