Job description

The Role : As an RN in the Labor & Delivery Unit, you will provide essential care to mothers and newborns during all stages of childbirth, including antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. You will play a critical role in ensuring safe and positive delivery outcomes.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to pregnant women during the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases.
  • Conduct initial assessments, monitor vital signs, and assist in the management of pain relief strategies.
  • Perform X-ray procedures, including positioning patients, operating equipment, and producing high-quality images.
  • Assist in the delivery process, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the mother and newborn.
  • Perform fetal monitoring, administer medications, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum care.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with established protocols and regulations.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted RN license in your current province.
  • Minimum of 2 years (recent experience) of L&D nursing experience.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
