Are you looking for a chance to make a difference? Are you someone who embraces change?RBC Wealth Management Technology & Solutions (RBC WMTS) is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) Specialist who exemplifies the attributes of a leader, mentor and decision maker. We are currently building out our SRE team, with the goal of providing expertise and tooling to the RBC Wealth Management application teams to manage the health, security, and availability of our 3rd party vendor applications in production. We partner with other teams and our 3rd party vendors to provide guidance throughout the lifecycle of building, deploying, and maintaining the application. What will you do?

  • Design and implement RBC WMTS SRE practices for 3rd party vendor applications
  • Build and maintain SRE partnership with RBCs largest Wealth Management 3rd party vendor
  • Drive proactive monitoring solutions for 3rd party vendor hosted applications
  • Implement and drive proactive monitoring solutions for internally hosted applications
  • Mentor new and upcoming SRE resources

What do you need to succeed? Must-have

  • 4+ years SRE experience supporting multiple applications with broad systems exposure, 1-2 years SRE experience in a large financial services organization
  • Good overall understanding of networking related areas like certificates, load balancers etc.
  • Experience in monitoring using Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Catchpoint OR other related tools
  • Analytical mindset with a passion for understanding the details
  • Creative mindset to bring new ideas and methods to increase resiliency
  • SRE thought leadership to drive change, debate with passion and knowing when to pivot
  • Nice-to-have

  • Working knowledge of Mainframes & JCL
  • Experience in micro-services, public cloud (Azure preferred) & container technologies
  • Exposure to UCD, Openshift, Kubernetes, PCF (Pivotal Cloud Foundry), GitHub
  • Experience in Vendor Management, application development, database, system engineering and / or systems analysis
