Duties : The Regional Fire Centre Radio Operator will be involved with the day to day operation of the Western Region Forest Fire Centre. The Fire Centrecan be a fast paced environment that will require the incumbent to multitask with a very high degree of proficiency.
The incumbent will require a high level of organizational skills to prioritize critical incoming information in relation to forest fire activity on a day to day basis. They will be responsible for monitoring and operating a 2-way radio network; aircraft flight following; recording radio transmissions; compiling daily reports and computer data entry; assisting in the processing, filing, photocopying of accounts and payroll journals; and typing related correspondence.
