Maintenance Team Leader
Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Team Leader is accountable for the organization, supervision, standards, and development of all maintenance personnel and activities within their assigned process area. They are also in charge of supporting the execution of mechanical work through the scheduling, coordinating, and directing of mechanical resource.
We're hiring a Maintenance Team Lead to join our Oriented Strand Board (OSB) mill located in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. Meadow Lake employs 155 employees and safely and sustainably produces 700 million square feet of OSB every year for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- A university degree, technical diploma, or Journeyperson trades certification in a related field.
- Proven leadership experience supervising maintenance teams within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid practical and theoretical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Broad understanding of industry standards and best practices in OSB manufacturing or related wood‑processing sectors.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
- Ability to manage resources and work activities within an established budget.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate closely with the Functional Area Lead to align and prioritize maintenance activities within your assigned area.
- Ensure the availability of required parts, materials, tools, equipment, and personnel to support efficient and effective work execution.
- Coordinate and organize daily maintenance activities to support operational reliability.
- Build strong working relationships across all employee groups within the mill.
- Analyze team performance, proactively identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency—including supporting employee development and managing performance.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of maintenance work in accordance with established practices.
- Enforce all company policies, work rules, and safety standards for all team members under your supervision.
