We don’t just accept diversity – we celebrate it! We are making targeted efforts to recruit and retain diverse employees. In fact, CSC is the largest employer of Indigenous peoples in the core public administration. We are committed to helping diverse talent thrive. We encourage women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and members of visible minority groups to apply and to self-declare themselves as part of one or more of the Employment Equity groups as selection may be limited to candidates belonging to one or more of these groups. CSC is seeking interest from persons looking for an exciting and rewarding career as a Parole Officer.📣 MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Parole Officers are essential to fulfilling the Correctional Service of Canada's (CSC) mission of enhancing public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure, and humane control. They play an active role to help offenders reintegrate into society. With more than 20,000 employees, CSC plays a key role in contributing to public safety, working around the clock at our 43 correctional institutions, 91 parole offices and 14 community correctional centres across Canada. Join us to help change lives and protect Canadians!📚 The Parole Officer’s responsibilities include guiding the progress of offenders through a progression from most restrictive to least restrictive controls and from institutions to community supervision. They ensure that legal and policy requirements for reintegration are met as well as manage the reintegration of offenders throughout their sentences while trying to maintain public safety. Furthermore, they are responsible for assessing, analyzing and recommending potential transfer and release suitability of offenders as well as observing and interpreting the behaviour of the offenders/parolees. For more information on the responsibilities of a Parole Officer, please visit the following website: Intent of the process
A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established throughout this selection process to staff temporary and permanent Parole Officer positions. CSC will review applications on a regular basis and contact candidates retained for further assessment. It is important therefore to complete and submit your application for timely consideration.
