Role Summary

Terus Construction, a Division of Colas Western Canada Inc. is looking to hire an Equipment Operator for our operations in Smithers, BC – Bulkley Valley.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the equipment operator include, but are not limited to :

• Capable of operating heavy equipment such as wheel loaders of various sizes and makes, skid-steers and excavators
• Operate all heavy equipment safely and efficiently according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
• Must be self-motivated, driven and able to work well independently
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary
• Ensure that equipment is stored safely and securely
• Capable of loading and unloading trucks safely and efficiently
• Able to take and follow instruction from supervisor, adjust to changing conditions and communicate any and all needs to supervisor, as well as working as part of a team
• Capable of doing various tasks and labour duties as required

Requirements

Profile

The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $35.50-$44.00 / hr. The final compensation package will be determined based on factors including the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
