What is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Director, we are seeking a Talent Acquistion Manager to join us for a 12-18 month contract to support Aecon’s Industrial, Corporate / Concessions, and Urban Transportation Solutions sectors.

What You Will Do Here

  • Partner closely with the Director, Talent Acquisition, Talent Acquisition Leadership Team, Human Resources and Business Leaders to advance and support the talent agenda.
  • Lead, coach, motivate and develop a team of talent acquisition individuals to source, attract and engage diverse talent and build an inclusive external pipeline of quality talent.
  • Leverage your knowledge to deliver the current and future talent needs for the business, including proactive sourcing strategies for key roles.
  • Identify trends and test new ideas for talent attraction.
  • Use a consultative approach to partner with the business to enhance the candidate and hiring experience for internal and external candidates.
  • Consult with hiring managers and provide updates on the labor market, candidate availability, sourcing methods, recruitment risks, relocation packages and more.
  • Communicate on a regular basis with the business to understand and forecast recruitment needs and initiatives
  • Monitor and review performance metrics to assess team performance, make strategic choices, and improve talent acquisition processes.
  • Support and manage change with your team to build resilience, maintain productivity and increase acceptance of change.
  • Assist and consult on the development of job descriptions and job postings.
  • Identify opportunities for process-improvement.
  • Promote Aecon as the first-choice employer in our industry as a brand ambassador.

What You Will Bring to The Team :

  • Proven results in talent acquisition and team leadership including sourcing, leveraging metrics, and recruitment marketing
  • Ability to build and execute a newly centralized team’s strategic objectives with a passion for operations and recruitment effectiveness is key.
  • Consultative and collaborative approach including critical thinking, change management, and developing proactive strategies
  • Demonstrated passion for acting as brand ambassador, finding diverse talent, and developing team talent
  • Campus talent insights and experience implementing early talent programs is an asset.
  • Proficient with technology and talent acquisition go-to-market recruitment platforms, including Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), is an asset.
  • Construction, Infrastructure, Corporate Functions, Concessions, or related industry experience is an asset.
