Campus Security Guard - North Cowichan

About the Role

Westguard is currently hiring Campus Security Guards for a post-secondary campus in North Cowichan, BC . In this role, you'll be an integral part of the campus safety team-supporting a secure, respectful, and inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

This position is well suited for individuals who are approachable, alert, and community-minded. You'll conduct regular patrols, respond to incidents, provide assistance to the campus community, and work collaboratively with internal departments and emergency services to promote safety and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive patrols of campus buildings, grounds, and parking areas
• Maintain a professional, visible, and approachable presence on campus
• Provide safe walks and personal escorts when requested
• Respond to incidents, service calls, and safety concerns with professionalism
• Enforce campus policies respectfully and in alignment with institutional values
• Assist during emergencies such as evacuations, lockdowns, or shelter-in-place events
• Communicate with law enforcement and emergency responders as required
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills and safety checks
• Complete detailed reports and maintain accurate shift logs using approved systems
