SAS Developer

Responsibilities

• Design and implement models such as predictive, regression, classification, time-series, and segmentation models.
• Use SAS to build, validate, and deploy models that are scalable and aligned with business goals.
• Write and optimize complex SAS programs (Data Step, PROC SQL, Macros) for ETL and data processing.
• Extract data from multiple sources including data warehouses, relational databases, and flat files.
• Use advanced SAS procedures (e.g., PROC GLM, PROC LOGISTIC, PROC ARIMA, PROC DMREG, PROC SQL, PROC REPORT) for analytics and reporting.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to uncover patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Perform feature engineering to improve model accuracy and business relevance.
• Address data quality and preprocessing issues that impact modeling results.
• Use cross-validation and other techniques to ensure model robustness and generalization.
• Monitor model performance and recalibrate when necessary.
• Document modeling methodologies, assumptions, and validation results.
• Develop SAS-based reports and dashboards to track model KPIs and business metrics.
• Present analytical results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with business analysts, data scientists, and IT teams to align on business goals.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to SAS development standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation for SAS code, models, and data dictionaries.
• Follow coding standards and ensure high code maintainability and performance.
