Sales Support Engineer – Instrumentation, Control Panel & Programming
Join W3Global as a Sales Support Engineer focused on automation, instrumentation, and control system solutions. In this role you will support customers, generate sales opportunities, and provide technical expertise while collaborating closely with inside sales, engineering, and project management teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inquiries from municipal, industrial, and commercial clients regarding instrumentation, control panels, PLCs, and automation solutions.
- Build strong relationships with water and wastewater treatment facilities, engineering firms, OEMs, and contractors across electrical, mechanical, and general contracting disciplines.
- Prepare and deliver quotations, proposals, and sales orders.
- Follow up on leads and convert opportunities into sales.
- Provide technical expertise on flow meters, level sensors, VFDs, PLC / SCADA systems, and control panels.
- Understand client needs and recommend customized automation solutions.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and new technologies in water and wastewater automation.
- Process sales orders and coordinate with purchasing, logistics, and vendors for timely delivery.
- Maintain and update CRM systems with customer interactions and sales activities.
- Work closely with engineering and field service teams to ensure proper solution delivery.
- Identify new sales opportunities and potential customers in the water and wastewater industry.
- Participate in trade shows, industry events, and webinars to promote integration solutions.
- Assist in the development of marketing materials and sales strategies.
Qualifications & Skills
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Instrumentation, or a related field.5+ years inside sales, technical sales, or customer service experience in industrial automation, instrumentation, or control systems.Experience in the water and wastewater industry is a strong asset.Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, PLC programming, SCADA, and control panel design.Familiarity with CSA, UL, and NEC standards for control panels.Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).Strong communication, interpersonal, problem‑solving, and multitasking skills.Seniority Level
