What’s The Role

The Product Handler is part of a team of 16 people with the objective of delivering safe and reliable operations to serve Shell’s fuel customers in the local market, to be a supply point for other Shell terminals, and for product export. Adherence to Shell and regulatory compliance, Shell’s Code of Conduct, and maintaining the “License to Operate” is essential. The role is crucial for day‑to‑day operations and serves as a key interface with contractors and carriers while overseeing product handling (rail, marine, pipeline, truck), maintenance and project activities.

The Shellburn and Burmount Terminals receive refined products (gasoline, distillate and biofuels) via rail car and marine, and ships and products via pipeline, marine and truck. The position operates on a continuous 24 / 7 schedule, requiring shift work and occasional overtime. Representation is by the UNIFOR Union, Local 601.

• Maintain compliance with company procedures and government regulations related to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) and various agency permits.
• Handle, receive, transfer, ship and store petroleum products via pipeline, rail car, marine and truck.
• Physical offloading of railcars.
• Provide general maintenance, surveillance checks and housekeeping to support terminal assets for a safe, secure and environmentally sound operation.
• Initiate emergency response actions for people and processes.
• Solve loading rack malfunctions.
• Conduct quality assurance sampling and testing of products.
• Accountable for compliance with company HSSE and regulatory procedures.

What We Offer

The hourly rate for this role is $37.12. Individual pay will be based on various factors such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority and internal equity.
