- Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures
- Conduct anals glands treatment
- Keep records of animals treated
- Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals
- Pet clipping and styling
- Supervise helpers
- Assist animal breeders to handle and nurture animals
- Clean animal ears
- Maintain and order supplies
- Assist zoo and wildlife workers in transferring, restraining, crating and uncrating animals
- Assist researchers in conducting laboratory tests with animals
- Clip animal nails
- Monitor and document animal behaviour
- Perform expert clipping on show animals with tools including clippers, shears and massage sponges
- Perform dental cleaning on domestic animals
