Position Summary
The Division of Nuclear Medicine in the Department of Radiology at St Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver British Columbia, is seeking an outstanding candidate to serve as Division Head. The successful candidate will implement the move and expansion of current division into the new St Paul’s Hospital and medical campus (NSPH) in spring 2027 and advance the current work of the department including teaching and clinical service and expanding cardiac, oncological and theranostic clinical services. Our service currently has 1.5 FTE positions, and it is anticipated that the new division head will recruit 2-3 additional nuclear medicine physicians. The division currently provides services using 2 SPECT / CT cameras, and 1 SPECT camera and will expand in the NSPH to have 3 state of the art SPECT / CT cameras and new 1 PET / CT camera. The PET camera will serve primarily oncology patients and cardiac patients. Remuneration for clinical work is by fee for service / contract alternative payment.
The administrative role as division head includes responsibilities for strategic leadership, division management, resource oversight, quality and compliance, community engagement, and academic contributions. The time commitment for this role is currently one-half day per week. This position is for a 5‑year term with possibility of renewal.

In spring 2027, NSPH will open at the Jim Pattison Medical Campus. St Paul’s Hospital is a provincial heart centre, is one of the teaching hospitals of the University of British Columbia (UBC) and is home to the Providence Health Care Research Institute and the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have FRCPC in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent and must be eligible for licensure in British Columbia. The successful candidate will be eligible for appointment to the Faculty of Medicine at UBC. FRCPC in Radiology or equivalent is not required but may be an asset.
