Position Overview :
The Pad Coordinator is a subject matter expert who coaches, motivates, guides, and leads operational work performed by their peers including, Leads, De-icers, and Equipment Operators. The Pad Coordinator is responsible for monitoring and reporting any extraordinary performance or deviations from operational standards and will work as part of a team to provide superior service and stakeholder satisfaction through responsibility for the safe, orderly and expeditious traffic management for vehicles and aircraft on the de-icing pads.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to) :
Act as a liaison with Equipment maintenance representatives, Deicers and / or Quality Control, WAA One Call (with regards to snow removal and other facility maintenance), Inland customer airlines and operators, local aircraft ground control agencies, and Nav Canada (when required)Assist operators with trouble-shooting equipment problemsConduct shift briefing / update with all deicing crewmembers prior to any deicing event commencingIdentify specific deicing areas to be used and ensure that all applicable operational and environmental systems are properly configuredDetermine, according to aircraft type, weather conditions, location, resources and method of deicing to be utilizedRequired Skills and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalentMust be at least 18 years oldVast experience in the field of aircraft and / or operationsSuccessful completion of all classroom and on-the-job trainingFlexible scheduleBasic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft programs and the ability to use Inland’s independent computer program “Ice Link – Aircraft Ground De-icing Management System”The ability to use an iPad and / or laptopStrong multi-tasking and organizational skillsStrong leadership skillsStrong coaching skillsAbility to read, write, speak and communicate effectivelyAbility to work as part of a teamAbility to maintain a positive and good-natured attitudeAbility to remain calm and perform under pressure and within fixed time constraintsA valid driver’s license is required for this positionWork Environment :
The Pad Coordinator will have a mixture or operational and office duties. Most of the job will be spent sitting in the Icehouse or in a vehicle for extended periods of time during inclement weather conditions. There may be exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions (wet and / or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and vibration). The noise level in the work environment can be excessive at times. There will be times when the Pad Coordinator will be required to work outside of their normal work schedule, so that we may meet the needs of our customers and / or operational requirements.
