Opportunity
Pathfind is seeking a full-time, permanent Senior Accountant in their construction clients Sherwood Park, Alberta office. This position will report directly to the Controller. The successful candidate will provide financial expertise as well as project costing, revenues, and analysis.
Candidate Qualifications
- Bachelor of Commerce with Accounting or relevant post-secondary education with extensive work experience (experience can be considered instead of preferred education)
- CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation is an asset
- 5-8 years in an accounting role, supervisory experience is considered an asset
- 3 plus years of experience with project accounting
- Strong knowledge with financial, operational, and cost reporting and analysis
- Experienced in budgeting, forecasting and business process’
- Strongly proficient with Accounting software, advanced knowledge using MS Word and Excel
- Experience in Maestro software is an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Highly organized and self-motivated
- Ability to develop, nurture and maintain strong relationships with vendors, agencies, and various internal stakeholders
- Ability to work effectively in a team and in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
Assist in the delivery of accurate and timely financial and operational reportsReconcile completed jobs, ensuring accuracy of costs and revenuesPrepare, analyze, and report project financial information relating to revenue and costsProvide project status and analysis information to Project Managers and ControlResponsible for month end, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparationResponsible for monthly Intercompany reconciliationsProvide business analysis from data converted to information that allows key stakeholders to make strategic business decisionsAssist with the year-end audit processOversee of monthly project accounting costing details and reportingAssist in budgeting, forecasting and support of operational planning processesAssist in improvement initiatives around internal system processes and controls to streamline and reduce inefficiencies of financial processesAssist in the documentation and implementation of internal controls to ensure consistency of policies and proceduresFacilitate the development of direct and indirect reports through the provision of continuous coaching and mentoringOther duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the managerBENEFITS
