Hi,We are looking for both a long term, Full time Caregiver / Respite / Friend / Mothers Helper for our son, as well as part time Respite / Friend

• Starting wage $20 / hour
• Full time : 40 hours per week to care for and play with our son who has special needs.
• an additional Part time position also available around 20-25 hours / week for the right match, like a University student or great for someone who wants to work extra hours evenings, weekends and Holidays.He is a great kid - kind and gentle and loves to laugh, play, be silly and have fun.He is in a wheelchair but can move around on his own with his feet, and can stand and walk with assistance. He currently has drop seizures which is why he’s in the wheelchair for his safety.Availability some weekends, evening and Holidays are important, but weekday hours also available.If you are trustworthy, kind, have energy, patience, and love to play and have fun! Please read below : Our son is 15 year old and is small for his age - developmentally around 2-4 years old. He is a great kid who loves to be silly! My husband works long hours, and I work part time from home. Start date : immediately Location : Bridgwater Trails in South WinnipegWe are looking for a truly special person - our ideal applicant is gentle and kind but is also energetic, animated, silly and loves to have fun! They must be able to follow directions, be a self-starter, have great ideas for play / learning, and of course, trustworthy and reliable who will not only provide care for our son, but also be his friend / buddy, and committed to help teach and develop his curiosities, challenge and encourage him.He loves to play - the ideal candidate has a great imagination! Most of your time will be spent playing with him 😊 He loves music, toddler games, Peppa Pig, Disney Buses, Dump Trucks, silly toys, Trains, letters, spelling, reading, all vehicles and much more!Medically, the last couple years have been very hard on him, and us. With multiple extended hospital stays, his seizures returning, GI issues due to multiple medications that affect his tummy and appetite. We currently use his Gtube for all medications and meals / feeds, and will need help with this as it is very time consuming. Experience is not necessary, but more-so a willingness to learn is required a it is a skill I can teach.When he is healthy, he eats home made puréed food by a spoon by himself. I may ask help in making and freezing these meals for him as well. He uses the toilet and diapers, but due to his current GI health issues, has many accidents. This is something that there will always be a second person (usually me) around to help with.Help with Laundry, cleaning / tidying, kitchen tidying, toy organization and overall help keeping the home is needed as well, basically, a second me : )Our ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, is great with kids, is gifted with creative ways to teach our son with their ideas, is organized, and an amazing story teller!
• Must have CPR and First Aid and criminal & child abuse check.
• Must be a non-smoker, and come from a non-smoking home.
• he has MANY very severe allergies, both environmental and food. An awareness and caution with allergies is of highest importance. He has not been in school for much of his life because of the allergens there that affect him.
