Aecon supports clients with expert project management to the most exacting standards.
Working with our joint venture partner Atkins Realis, Aecon Nuclear has been awarded the definition phase contract with Ontario Power Generation (OPG) to assist in planning the Pickering Retube, Feeder and Boiler replacement (RFBR) project. This project involves the refurbishment of four reactors and replacement of the forty eight steam generators at the Pickering Nuclear Generating Station.
The Project Coordinator directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration and completion of engineering and construction requirements within the scope of a specified project.
The Project Coordinator, reporting directly to the Project Manager, will play a key role in providing leadership in managing / supervising construction projects by assisting in the project management and coordination of schedules, manpower, customer relations, engineering, and procurement. Risk analysis, project forecasting, liaising with EPC and subcontractors are daily occurrences in these positions.
What You'll Do Here :
- Lead by example to ensure a “ONE TEAM” Project-First, collaborative approach for internal, external, cross-JV and client-facing interactions. Create the context that promotes this and other values that are required to make the project successful.
- Demonstrates strong nuclear safety culture. Maintains such a culture using event free tools and technical conscience. Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.
- Support the Project Manager in creating and sharing the vision of project success with the team.
- Plans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and manpower requirements.
- Develops and maintains the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments of the project.
- Provides status report of project milestones and adjustment to schedules.
- Controls expenditures within limitations of project budget.
- Identifies project manpower requirements and coordinates manpower with appropriate trades and subcontractors.
- Maintains meeting minutes.
- Identifies risks to Risk Manager and identifies actions for entering the action tracking log.
- Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.
- Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications.
- Coordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Interfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensures customer needs are met.
- Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and management.
- Assists and monitors safety programs and statistics as required.
- Writes and reviews purchase specifications and subcontract documents.
- Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures
- Tracking and expediting internal and external deliverables as part of the contract.
- Provide frequent, informal performance feedback to SGR team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy. Endeavor the feedback to be in person wherever possible.
What You'll Do Here :
Technical (Engineering or Engineering Technology) education.5+ years of engineering and / or construction project experience.Proficient written (report writing) communication skills.Knowledge of SharePoint applications an asset.Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.Preference will be given to those with nuclear outage planning experience.Reason for vacancy : New
Pay Range : $75,000 - $90,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
