Job description

The Qualified Childcare Educator is responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and overall development of children in a child care environment. It plans and organizes age-appropriate educational activities for children, thus promoting their learning and socialization. She works in collaboration with parents to ensure continuity between home and daycare.

Localisation : Garderie LaSalle des petits – Montréal, Québec

Status : Permanent, 4 days a week and one day of work at home (32-40 hours / week)

Work schedule : Garderie LaSalle des petits' opening hours : Monday to Friday, 7 : 30 a.m. to 6 : 30 p.m. and 6 : 30 p.m. to 11 : 30 p.m.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To apply the educational program to the children
  • Ensure the overall harmonious development of the children
  • Organize, facilitate and evaluate group, sub-group and individual activities to enable each child to develop to his / her full potential
  • Provide support and protection to some children in difficulty
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of the premises, materials and equipment
  • Assist children with meals and snacks
  • Participate in the monthly team meeting
  • Collaborate with parents for the well-being of the children
  • Follow the given themes
  • Collaborate with the Early Childhood Education teachers at Garderie LaSalle des Petits Daycare.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A two- to four-year college diploma in early childhood education (A.E.C. or D.E.C.) or a bachelor's degree in child development is required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with children.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and French, with a third language an asset : Portuguese, Mandarin or Spanish.
  • Flexibility in terms of working hours;
