The team collaborates to provide comprehensive care in areas including low-risk obstetrics, emergency medicine, and surgical assisting. We are proud of our addiction medicine program, with a team of family physicians managing the outpatient opioid agonist therapy clinic, and we are establishing an outpatient detox unit to support patients. Our family physicians oversee inpatient care at the hospital and work closely with internal medicine, general surgery, and psychiatry. This role involves working with Indigenous peoples, who represent a significant part of the local population, as an integral and rewarding aspect of practice.
Responsibilities
- Oversee inpatient care at the hospital and collaborate with internal medicine, general surgery, and psychiatry.
- Provide comprehensive care across settings, including opportunities in low-risk obstetrics, emergency medicine, and surgical assisting as part of a family medicine team.
- Contribute to the addiction medicine program, including outpatient opioid agonist therapy, and participate in establishing an outpatient detox unit.
- Engage in education and mentorship, with a thriving residency program (two residents per year) and two medical students annually through an integrated clerkship program. Teaching opportunities are available but optional.
Qualifications
- MD degree and eligibility for licensure in British Columbia.
- Interest in community-based medicine and collaboration with Indigenous communities; experience in addiction medicine is an asset.
