NAIT’s WeldingApprenticeship and Advanced Welding Technology programs combine advancedtechnical knowledge, welding skills, and exposureto modern technologies to give a graduate the competitive edgeinto a career in welding.
From skills in fabrication to product innovationand inspection methods, students will gain foundational skillsthat are in-demand by industry.
The program is currently recruiting for salariedinstructors who are energetic leader’s, committed to student success, and haveoutstanding communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
KeyResponsibilities :
- Prepare and present learning outcomes and activitiesin a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
- Participate in curriculum development, program reviewsand course reviews
- Facilitate the learning process by utilizinginstructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of coursematerials
- Manage instructional delivery and set the tone andclimate for a safe and effective learning environment
- Create assessment tools to evaluate the learningprocess and maintain progress records
- Provide early and on-going coaching and tutoring forstudents to maximize student success and retention
- Respond to student issues
- Utilize appropriate educational technology forpresentations, communications and program promotions
- Maintenance and / or submission of program / studentrecords accurately and promptly
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships withstudents, colleagues, and industry partners
- Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT’sStrategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Plan as identified by the institute
- Utilize regular student feedback to identify andimplement instructional improvement
- Improve the quality of instruction throughprofessional development activities
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications :
- HighSchool Diploma
- Completionof a Welding Journeyperson certificate, B Pressure and Inter-Provincial RedSeal required
- WeldingAutomation training and experience would be an asset.
- Minimum5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket.
- Teachingexperience an asset
Note : Those candidateswho are successful in the interview process will be required to performpractical testing components related to the technical portion of theposition.
Remuneration : Will commensurate witheducation and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.
00 - $85,889.00annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification Instructor).
Thisposition is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) CollectiveAgreement
