Construction Lead Hand

Cutting Edge Landscaping is currently looking to fill landscape construction lead hand positions to help bring our diverse projects into reality.

• Take direction from Project Managers for daily tasks and goals on site
• Organize, motivate and manage a crew of landscaping construction personnel on a daily basis
• Coordinate with project managers, trucking department, and subcontractors for site time-lines, deliveries, obstacles, and inspection of completed work
• Source materials and equipment from alternative suppliers based on project location and availability
• Recognize safe operating procedures and proper training on equipment
• Must be able to operate company trucks with and without trailers and demonstrate responsible driving
• Operate a variety of equipment: Skid steers; with a variety of controls and attachments Excavator Forklift Backhoe/ (Rubber tired hoe) Loader Dozer Sod stripper Mechanical compaction equipment Various power & and tools
• Have an attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Perform equipment maintenance and daily checks, ensure all equipment is in proper working order
• Uphold our safety culture and safe work practices
• Complete required paperwork for our safety program and participates in weekly meetings
• Work is labour intensive and will be outdoors in all weather conditions
• Perform various tasks such as: Maintenance on equipment and trailers Minor mechanical repairs such as oil changes, filter changes, tire repairs, and fluid top ups Read and install landscape plans to specifications and scheduled time-lines General understanding of grade stakes for drainage plans General construction knowledge Experience with hardscape construction including brick work and retaining walls Basic pruning and knowledge of plant material Effectively grade soils and clay Loading and chaining down equipment for proper load securement
• Landscape Construction Experience; 2+ years
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Bend, rotate and stand for long periods of time
• Class 5 Driver’s Licence - Required
• CSTS-2020
• First Aid Certification
