ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Coaching Development the Coordinator will provide support and guidance in developing leading and executing the vision for community player development programs and overall Hockey Development within Hockey Canada and its Members.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL MISSION OF HOCKEY CANADA

Support the Sr Manager Coaching Development on Member initiatives and all areas of development through research presentation development administration etc

Oversee the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Instructional Stream Programs / Portfolio including :

Updating Skills Shooting and Scoring Developing Defencemen Skating and Small Area Games.

Content revision and development

Scheduling & planning Field Evaluator training

Scheduling & planning Facilitator training (Level 2)

Member delivery support

Represent Hockey Canada in all Provincial Member NCCP Instructional Stream inquiries on initiatives and programs

Work closely with other development staff to support :

Women and Girls Development

Growth & Retention

Officiating

Coaching

Player Programs

Goaltending

Para

Support Grassroots Para Programming initiatives by contributing to the creation and implementation of programming. Work closely with National Team leaders where required.

Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Updates job knowledge by participating in conferences and educational opportunities; reading professional publications maintaining personal networks participating in professional organizations

EXPERIENCE YOULL NEED

A post-secondary education in sport administration education or relevant field of study

Strong working knowledge of the Hockey Canada / Membership structure

Experience in coaching or player development at the community provincial or national level; active involvement in hockey programming is a strong asset.

Strong understanding of the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) model and Hockey Canadas coaching pathways.

Experience supporting or running coaching clinics player development camps or similar sport development initiatives.

Excellent interpersonal and relationships management skills; promotes cooperation and commitment within a team to achieve goals and objectives

Demonstrated communication skills; ability to use a broad range of communication techniques to effectively communicate to varying audiences in a variety of situations

Exceptional organizational and time management skills; ability to balance conflicting priorities in order to manage workflow ensure the completion of essential projects and meet deadlines

Demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Programs Outlook and ability to quickly adapt to new technology and easily acquire new technical skills

Proven track record of innovative thinking

Bilingualism (English / French) is an asset
