The Role

The Senior Construction Estimator will oversee the estimating process from preconstruction through project execution. Responsibilities include preparing detailed cost estimates, managing tenders, and collaborating with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to provide cost-effective solutions. The role requires a deep knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations, with a focus on delivering accurate estimates that meet project timelines and client objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for various project types, including commercial, industrial, and residential developments.
  • Oversee preconstruction processes, including scope evaluation and risk assessment.
  • Manage tender processes, bid analysis, and contract finalization.
  • Provide cost analysis and value engineering to optimize budgets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project requirements are accurately reflected in estimates.
  • Coordinate with the construction team for seamless transition to project execution.
  • Perform risk assessments and track project costs and timelines.
  • Stay current with market trends, material pricing, and industry standards.
  • Mentor junior estimators.

Qualifications :

  • 10+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods and regulations.
  • Experience in preconstruction, tenders, and construction management.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and MS Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Compensation :

    The role offers a competitive salary between $130,000 to $180,000, along with a profit-sharing program, RRSP matching, and comprehensive health and dental benefits.
