Verafin - Cloud Systems Administrator

As a Cloud Systems Administrator, you will have the chance to work on various challenges. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health of the supporting infrastructure, utilizing a number of different AWS services hosting the Verafin application and our internal development.

Additionally, you will get the opportunity to manage other third-party services. The main responsibility of the systems administrator and operations team is to ensure our application is consistently available and performant for our customers.

Role Responsibilities

Monitoring system performance while troubleshooting issues to ensure high availability and optimal performance

Collaborating with internal development teams to support and maintainbackend infrastructure

Performing configuration updates and maintenance activities to patch, secure, and maintain systems

Responding to and analyzing issues that affect system performance to minimize downtime

Monitoring and maintaining an enterprise level server management environment

Creating and updating documentation for common issues and processes to ensure process improvements

Supporting occasional after-hours maintenance

Learning and researching the various third-party tools utilized by the team

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Graduate of a technical college program

2 3 years’ experience in a similar position

Experience performing system administration tasks - installing, maintaining, monitoring, recovering, rebuilding, upgrading, and patching

Experience administrating Linux distributions

Experience usingTerraform

Experience using Chef would be an asset

Experience running systems using AWS

Experience with virtualization, and network administration

Knowledge of Java, Python and Bash would be an asset

AWS certifications would be an asset

Strong problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

What does success look like in this role?

Successfully blending systems administration and development to architect solutions in AWS

Understanding Verafin's cloud infrastructure and the various AWS services that support it
