Chief Executive Officer

Community Social Services Employers’ Association of BC (CSSEA)

Location : Metro Vancouver

The Community Social Services Employers’ Association of BC (CSSEA) is at the forefront of supporting the community social services sector in British Columbia.

Established by the provincial government to coordinate collective bargaining for publicly funded employers in the sector, CSSEA’s work impacts approximately 200 employers and nearly 27,000 employees, with collective agreements representing a labor cost approaching $1 Billion.

The organization negotiates three essential collective agreements, aligning the sector with the Community Services Labour Relations Act.

These agreements, covering community living, Indigenous child and family, and general services, are crucial to the livelihoods of many British Columbians.

With any change in leadership comes a time for renewal. Following the departure of a long-serving leader, an exciting opportunity exists for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO is responsible for the overall leadership and operational management of CSSEA in alignment with the association’s statutory mandate, public policy, and the strategic direction of the CSSEA Board.

The ideal candidate is a highly capable senior leader with a track record of success from within a complex organization where an understanding of labour relations, human resource management and managing within a unionized environment is in evidence.

Experience working directly with a Board of Directors and with senior level government officials, within a multi-stakeholder environment, including Indigenous stakeholders will be key.

The next CEO has an opportunity to work with a highly capable team to positively impact a growing sector engaged in highly impactful work.

This role will be based out of Metro Vancouver, BC. To explore this opportunity further, please click Apply.

The compensation for this role is commensurate with experience and negotiable, with an expected base salary range of $200,000 - $225,000.
