Location : Fully Remote or Hybrid, attached to clinic in Dartmouth, NS.
Salaried and fee-for-service options for part-time and full-time roles.
You will find purpose in this role by :
- Engaging in psychological (diagnostic) assessments to identify diagnoses, level of distress, and functional impairment and recommend treatment.
- Providing psychological treatment for complex conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and concurrent disorders.
- Working autonomously to provide 1 : 1 psychological services while integrating with interdisciplinary mental health teams.
- Providing supervision to other psychologists and psychotherapists as appropriate.
- Consulting with other team members and management on clinical cases or practice dilemmas.
- Leveraging novel approaches to mental health service delivery, including adjunct digital therapeutics.
- Bringing unique assessment competencies to a range of applications, from pre-employment suitability assessments for high-risk occupations to diagnostic assessments guiding treatment and psychosocial resource building.
- Consulting with other mental health service team members and clinical interdisciplinary teams.
- Contributing to in-house training sessions and interdisciplinary case discussions.
Education and licensure
Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university.Current registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) – competency with adult populations; clinical and / or counseling psychology, health / rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology.Individual professional liability insurance required at time of employment.Applied Experience
Conducting psychological assessments with adults for various goals, including treatment planning.Providing evidence-based treatments grounded in cognitive-behavioral approaches.Working in interdisciplinary teams and with third party payers considered an asset.Utilizing telehealth / virtual care methods considered an asset.Additional Abilities
Bilingual French and English is a great asset.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.Able to work both autonomously and as part of interdisciplinary teams.Efficient with required clinical documentation.Able to manage a diverse caseload within a dynamic work setting.Contact
