Job Description

Reporting to management, the Fusion Technician is responsible for the fabrication and field installation of customer HDPE purchases in addition to warehouse duties. The Fusion Technician must be service-oriented, have a high level of attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to safety.

To experience success in the position, the Fusion Technician will :

  • Work safely and effectively as a teammate and assist with additional tasks as needed to support the overall business
  • Know how to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
  • Be courteous, friendly and build relationships with customers and vendors

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fabricate custom HDPE orders to required specifications
  • Installation of pipe, fittings, and fabrications on-site
  • Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety
  • Receive, count, and verify incoming shipments
  • Pick materials for orders, assemble, and package the materials for shipment
  • Load / unload trucks and operate fusion equipment and forklift safely
  • Maintain / repair HDPE pipe fusion equipment
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Profit Centre Manager
  • Must be able to travel for extended periods of time
  • Must be local to Edmonton area
  • Qualifications

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent; College and / or University degree an asset
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high standard of integrity
  • Ability to develop comprehensive product and product application knowledge
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Mechanical inclination
  • Excellent organizational skills with an attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and teammates
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and able to work independently
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience with or knowledge or operation of McElroy fusion machines.
