Locum - Request for Care Clinic - September 2024

About This Opportunity

The Request for Care Clinic is seeking a family physician to locum, covering a maternity leave from approximately September for a minimum of 9 months (to be determined with host physician). The physician is currently working as a 0.6 (three days a week). The Request for Care Clinic is a unique opportunity to support unattached patients who do not have a provider, but need temporary acccess. The locum physician would work with other physicians, nurse practitioners, a family practice nurse, and a social worker in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to :

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention

Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’

Act as a patient’s advocate

Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations

Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Qualifications

Eligible for Licensure with the (CPSNS)

Eligible for certification with the (CFPC)

CMPA)
