We are currently seeking an experienced Pub Manager for our Qilalugaq Pub. This is a full-time (40 hours / week), key-holding leadership role in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where strong managerial skills, organization, and customer service are essential.Qualifications & Experience The ideal candidate must have :
- A minimum of five (5) years of proven management or leadership experience, preferably in the hospitality or food and beverage industry.
- At least one (1) year of bartending experience, with knowledge of bar operations, inventory management, and responsible alcohol service.
- Strong understanding of business management and accounting principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, customer service, and team management skills.
- Willingness to work during peak hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in English; fluency in Inuttitut and / or French is an asset.
- Ability to take initiative, be responsible, reliable, and adaptable. Key Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Board of Directors of Sakkuq LHC, the Pub Manager will :
- Recruit, train, and motivate staff to maintain a high level of performance and teamwork.
- Oversee daily pub operations, ensuring smooth service, efficiency, and compliance with company policies.
- Create and manage staff schedules, ensuring adequate shift coverage and adjusting as needed.
- Monitor and maintain health, safety, and hygiene standards in accordance with regulations.
- Manage cash flow, including balancing the register at the start and close of each shift.
- Monitor beverage inventory and costs, ensuring accurate tracking, reducing waste, and preventing unauthorized use.
- Analyze sales and reconcile financial discrepancies, ensuring proper cash management.
- Communicate regularly with company directors to align with business objectives.
- Develop innovative promotions and strategies to drive customer engagement and increase sales.
- Handle customer complaints professionally and take action to resolve any issues.
- Manage alcohol service responsibly, including addressing excessive drinking and ensuring customer safety.
- Enforce pub conduct policies, including issuing bar-out notices when necessary.
- Complete administrative tasks and provide monthly operational reports.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the successful operation of the pub. Working Conditions & Benefits
- Salary based on experience.
- Travel Benefit : Two (2) round-trip flights per year between the employee’s point of origin in Quebec and Kuujjuaraapik.
- Housing Benefit : Fully furnished housing provided for employees hired from outside Kuujjuaraapik / Whapmagoostui.
